Truckee’s Transformation Into the 16th Century
Come one, come all, to the fourth annual Truckee Renaissance Faire which convenes on September 15th from 10:00 am – 6:00 pm, and the 16th from 10:00 am – 5:00 pm. This multi-generational, family-fun event is held in the shires of Truckee River Regional Park in Truckee, California.
Set in the year 1562 at the height of the Renaissance era and its influences in Scottish, English and French politics and religion, the faire celebrates Michaelmas, the harvest festival. The Queen encourages you to eat and drink, mingle with the guilds from all countries, and duck when the flying peanuts cross your path.
You’re sure to enjoy the wares of more than 60 vendors. Their resplendent goods include the tastiest of foods and refreshments, fermented and not (such as the Winged Boar Tavern bartended by Truckee Rotary). There will be many curious artifacts for all ages of your family. Delight in the non-stop revelry displayed in the forms of musicians, singers, story tellers, puppet shows, sword battles, dancing, magic shows, and horse jousting by the Knights of the Azure Cross.
The Knights of the Azure Cross wear armor that weighs up to 100 pounds and endure the insults of a 15 to 25 pound lance, all while atop a 1,500 pound draft horse that charges at approximately 30 mph! Knights of the Azure Cross are professional jousters that include Petter Ellingsen and his steed from Norway.
The Queen and her Court personally invite you and yours, whether prince or peasant, to this fête. Come enjoy the historical atmosphere and partake of the food and activities that benefit local schools.
The Truckee Renaissance Faire is a non-profit organization produced by local volunteers (the Queen knows how to call her citizens to action). The organization’s purpose is to raise money for the enrichment of social studies through living history programs in Truckee schools.

Hi Sandy-
We would love to vend at this years faire.
We came last year and had a wonderful time.
We served at Folsom Faire and Auburn and Kvmr Celtic Fest.
Each time we have a grand reception from the public and they ask for us to attend more festivals.
We are also a local favorite at the Tahoe Music Festival for 4 years and many other events in Tahoe.
Please let me know what we can do to get in for this year.
Thanks Sandy!
